Jim Cameron joins Phemotron Systems as the Director of External Relations & Board Member. He is a highly respected leader in government relations, economic development, and community engagement, bringing decades of experience and strategic insight to his new role as Board Member and Executive Director at Phemotron.

Mr. Cameron currently serves as the President of Jim Cameron Consulting LLC, where he leverages his extensive network and expertise in public affairs. He is also the publisher of the widely-read Volusia Matters newsletter and hosts a weekly podcast dedicated to local government, political, business, and economic news, demonstrating his deep understanding of the regional landscape.

For nearly four decades, Mr. Cameron was a driving force in the economic and political life of the Daytona Beach region. He served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations for the Daytona Regional Chamber from 1983 to 2021. In this pivotal role, he successfully lobbied City, County, and State Legislators, as well as members of Congress, on critical business-related issues, helping to shape favorable policies for the business community.

Prior to his tenure in Daytona Beach, he served as the Manager of Industrial and Public Affairs for the Calhoun County Chamber in Anniston, Alabama (1979-1983), where he also focused on advocating for business interests at local, state, and federal levels.

A dedicated community advocate, Mr. Cameron has held leadership positions on the boards of several key organizations, including the United Way Board of Directors, the American Cancer Society (Volusia County Chapter), and the Volusia Flagler Coalition for the Homeless. His commitment to civic excellence was formally recognized in 2010 when he received the prestigious Daytona Beach Hometown Hero Award from the Volusia League of Cities.

Mr. Cameron is a proud graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Political Science in 1977.
